Since 1883, five generations of our family have handcrafted fine wines that express the very best of our vineyards and winemaking expertise. The Wente Family has been growing outstanding Merlot and Bordeaux varieties in the Livermore Valley since 1883. Our Sandstone Merlot comes from hillside vineyards in the Central Coast of California with the namesake sandstone soils. The vineyards benefit from warm days, well-drained soils, and cooling breezes from the Pacific Ocean.

TASTING NOTES

Taste : This wine has aromas of blackberry and black cherry, with hints of vanilla and spice. On the palate, it is full- bodied with flavors of plum, blackberry, and black cherry, as well as a hint of cocoa powder. Tannins are soft and the finish is smooth and velvety.

Body : Medium to full
